Cheryl Wolhar has been with Georgia Blinds and Interiors since 2006. We thought you would like to know more about one of our favorite team members! Here is a little Q & A with Cheryl….
Q: What is your favorite Hunter Douglas product and why?
A: Pirouette is my current favorite product because it combines the best features of the Vignette and Silhouette shades. When closed, it has the classic look and privacy of a Roman shade….but also incorporates the additional functionality of having fabric veins which you can open for a UV protected view-through. And the fabrics go from subtle to WOW.

Q: What benefits do your clients have by being able to use our convenient Atlanta Gallery Showroom?
A: It’s such a wonderful benefit to have the showroom as a resource. It gives clients the opportunity to see what treatments look like hanging and review the wide array of products and various features available. It’s a great chance to get a hands-on over-view of the many options we offer in window coverings so together we can evaluated which is the best fit.

Q: What has been a fun project for you to work on recently and why?
A: I recently completed an exciting Pirouette project. A client had just finished construction on a wonderful outdoor kitchen and covered entertainment area which was assessable from their family room. The view of the backyard and new entertainment center was amazing but the light from a wall of windows was interfering with the large flat screen television. There was also a problem with the sun damaging the floor and furnishings. We needed window treatments that could be lowered for television viewing but would also raise all the way up into the head-rail to allow an unobstructed view of the backyard. To compliment the decor of the family room, we wanted treatments that were simple and elegant.

The perfect fit both functionally and as design elements were Pirouette shades. The client chose a soft neutral color which worked well with her color pallet and the clean lines of the Pirouettes complimented her transitional decorating style. When closed, the treatments looked like classic Roman shades and blocked the troublesome sun light. The fabric veins could also be opened to allow in light and provide a view through while shielding the furnishings from the suns harmful UV rays with a protective sheer. And, when not needed, the shades could be raised all the way up into the head-rail. The Pirouettes satisfied all our needs and did it with style. We were all very pleased with the result.
Q: What new trends are you excited about incorporating into future projects if it aligns with a client’s taste?

Carole Fabrics Cornice Board
A: I’m very excited about new options available from Carole Fabrics which allow our clients to personalize their shades. We now offer petite cornices in a wide assortment of amazing fabrics that can be mounted over a shade’s standard head-rail. The addition of the customized cornice brings a very personal touch to the treatment and as a design element can elevate a shade from understated to dramatic. It’s just one of many ways we can use options to create interest, add excitement, and design truly unique treatments to reflect our client’s individual tastes.
